The long awaited 2-way internet maritime satellite communication system is a reality. The new SeaVisionKu2 system will offer maritime vessels access to true 2-way internet, enabling the user to transmit and receive right from the satellite dish. The first system available will incorporate a 1.2 meter dish, with a 1 meter dish to follow shortly thereafter. This product is scheduled for a tentative release date in the last quarter of 2005.
With ISKY’s latest advances and innovative technologies in the satellite antenna tracking market, it has proven to have unequalled performance in the marine industry. The extreme accuracy, stability and unmatched tracking speed of the SeaVision products has made 2-way internet affordable. ISKY’s use of proprietary signal acquisition technology, its powerful DSP processing engine, and the superior performance of the tracking platform, has the proven technology necessary to track 2-way internet satellites.
The SeaVisionKU2 will integrate with currant providers that offer fixed 2-way satellite systems. This will be the first truly affordable system for marine vessels. This system utilizes the same high speed internet that home systems use. The speeds are up to 90k on the uplink, and up to 750k on the downlink. This is an always-on connection with the ISP of around $99.00 dollars per month. Other ISP services will be available in the near future for larger vessels that go beyond the footprint of the existing satellite service. |
